The reasons for delay are
The slow market
As you know that previous year was very bad for service based companies and worse for Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Capegemini , Accenture, TCS and Tech-Mahindra etc.
Trust in the market
Many top level IT companies has lost the trust among the clients which led to their removal from the company at the same time the disruption of the trust in the market. Which has caused many big accounts to leave IT giants and join the rivals. So we have seen that Top IT companies Layoff more than 90,000 people have been removed. So its up to the management to decide the strategy to bring back the companies on its tracks. Similar thing happened in 2012 where people waited nearly for 1 year and I see similar situation getting repeated this year or it might be even worse because IT sector is going through the worst phase.
Reason 2:Many of IT companies may not have active projects at the moment and their employees must be "on the bench". By delaying the joining, they wont need to pay the freshers till then. Other reasons may be a training session for freshers from other colleges so that they can club together everyone.
Reason 3: Because of GREAT POLITICS.Most of the time there is not requirement of employees. But there is an contract between colleges and companies to hire certain number of students to show placements. Companies hire them. But there is not requirement so they delay their joining, so that they will have to pay less.Some will get offended. Please don’t.
This is probably the condition of every Tier 2 IT Firm in India. Be it Infosys, TCS or Wipro. They visit particularly University with huge strengths and portray themselves to be Future you always dreamed of, promising you the challenges and prosperous path which lay forward.
